In the second and final game of the American Fork Pony League's 2011 championship series, the Yankees flattened the Rockies 20-6.
Yankee Coach Bob Nelson said, "The Rockies are a really tough team. Even though we had a double-digit lead over them, we were afraid that they were going to come back."
The combined pitching of Tanner Durfey and Dallin Searle kept the Rockies from making any kind of comeback. In the top of the first, Jason Nelson singled into left, and Searle knocked him in. The Rockies answered with a double play, and they then grounded out Spencer Thomas.
With no Rocky able to get on base in the bottom of the first, the Yankees went on a seven-run scoring spree in the top of the second. Singles from Brandon Chambers and Garrett Thomas set the stage for it. An error let Chambers go home, and the rally ensued. During it, Searle tripled in two runs and Nelson hit a one-run single.
The Rockies staged a scoring rally of their own in the bottom of the second. Rockies Chase Carter and Taylor Mogg both came home on passed balls. Bridger Brooksby singled in Louis "Lou" Figueroa, cutting the lead to 8-3.
Doubling into left in the top of the third, Parker Wimmer came home on a Jeremy Smith double that set off a five-run rally. In the bottom of the third, Kaleb Greening singled in Wyatt Taylor. Grayson Gramily singled in Greening and Andy Miners. After that two-run single, Searle didn't let the Rockies make any more runs.
In the fourth, singles from Spencer Thomas and Chambers and a Wimmer walk enabled the Yankees to load the bases on no outs. A Garrett walk set off a seven-run rally that knocked the Rockies out of the game. During it, Nelson batted in two runs, and Searle slugged a three-run, in-the-park homer to clutch the game.

In the bottom of it, Jake Grange singled in Dusty Price to open a four-run rally for the Dodgers. During the rally, Taylor Jensen, a former Timpview Millionaire baseball player, doubled in two runs.
The next inning saw Lehi's Dagan Oviatt hit a two-run triple to tie the game at four. Rasmussen struck out Terrill before Oviatt could come home.

In a 17-under division game for the Utah Baseball Academy League June 30, the Ferocious Pleasant Grove Vikings defeated the Lehi Pioneers, AKA the Froggies, 5-1.
For the first 2 1/2 innings, the game went down as a deadlocked pitching duel between Froggie C am "Tux" Lux and Ferocious Viking Jake Barnhart. In the top of the first, for example, Froggie Nolan Padilla hit a one-out single off Barnhart, only to become captured in a double play turned up by shortstop Colt Sheriff.
After Lux struck out Braden Cox in the bottom of the first, he walked Easton Walker, who became ensnared by a Froggie double play.
In response to Barnhart not letting the Froggies capitalize on a Taylor Nielson triple hit in the second, Lux struck two straight Ferocious Vikings in the bottom of the second.
A "distant" cousin of TV's Lisa Simpson, Payton Simpson singled off Lux in the bottom of the third, and Walker singled him in. The next inning, Froggie Cody Webb's single scored Andy Paul for a tying run.
The game stayed tied until the bottom of the fifth. Its lower half began with a McKay Lewis single. After McKay Walker had whacked a double, Simpson doubled him and Lewis in. Lux kept Pleasant Grove from having a Riley Erickson single fuel a rally.
In the bottom of the sixth, a Lehi error let Barnhart and Sheriff race home. Lehi didn't let the Ferocious Vikings make any further runs after that mistake.
In the seventh, Nielson and Ryan Absher each hit a two-out single for the Froggies, but Pleasant Grove didn't let them score any runs.

On two outs in the bottom of it, Taylor Jensen raced home on an error at third. Having singled that inning, Adam Rasmussen also came home.
The next inning, Chucky Robinson homered in Zac McPherson to put Herimman No. 2 ahead 3-2. With Herimman No. 2 holding the Dodgers scoreless in the second, the Salt Lake County team improved its lead at 4-2 via A.J. Kelley's doubling in Alec Mickelson, who had hit a double at the start the third.
Jensen stole home in the bottom of the third, and the game swung to American Fork's favor in the fourth. It opened with McPherson singling into left, but he got thrown out in a fielder's choice play at second. With Jensen striking out Jesse Jorgensen and Bradon Shinsel, American Fork took control of the game in the bottom of the fourth. First Jake Grange came home on a passed ball, and then Johnny Morris hit a one-run single to break the 4-4 tie and end the game's scoring.

In a 15-under division game for the Utah Baseball Academy League July 1, the Ferocious Pleasant Grove Vikings defeated the West Jordan Jaguars, AKA the Pussy Cats, 11-1.
In the six innings that they played the Pussy Cats, the Ferocious Vikings showed why they should be legitimate contenders for the UBAL's 15-under division's state title later on this month.
Ferocious Viking pitcher Jade Smoot, for instance, didn't let any Pussy Cat batter make a hit until the top of the third. In the meantime, the Ferocious Vikings proceeded to take command of the game.

Pleasant Grove loaded the bases on no outs in the bottom of the fourth. Engamann knocked in two runs. Gavin Bahr then came home on a sacrifice fly whacked by Spencer Romney, a distant cousin of presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
In the top of the fifth, West Jordan's Landon Bateman hit a two-out single off Smoot, but got stuck on base. In the bottom of the fifth Simpson doubled in Cox and Kaesmeyer.
