In Timp Colt League action at American Fork's Rotary Park May 25, the American Fork Cubs clawed the American Fork Yankees 10-2.

In the top of the first, Colton Hale singled in Adam Tate to put the Yankees on the board first. However, through striking out Toddy Healey, Cub pitcher Derek Durfey kept the Yankee lead stuck at 1-0. The Cubs tied the game at one in the bottom of the first.

A "cousin" of TV's Homer Simpson, Nathan opened the second inning by singling into left, and a Zach Gillies double moved  him to third. Suddenly, Simpson had a good reason to shout, "D'oh!" Durfey struck out Dave Hadlock, and Kyler Houston flew out to first base.

In the bottom of the second, Cubs Trey McMurtrey and Colby Cordova came home on a passed ball and an error respectively to put their team ahead 3-1.

Third-inning singles from Hale and Austin Smith couldn't get the Yankees anywhere. With Durfey striking out Simposon at the end of the third's top half, the Cubs proceeded to double their lead. Singling at the bottom of the third, Durfey stole home, opening a three-run rally for the Cubs. Jeremy Reynolds contributed a one-run double and K.C. Cordova a one-run single to the rally.

Though Durfey gave up a double to Braxton Jex in the top of the fourth, he continued holding the Yankees scoreless that inning. In the bottom of the fourth, Durfey singled into left, then stole home. One-run singles from McMurtrey and Colby Cordova powered a four-run rally for the Cubs.

On one out in the top of the fifth, Houston tripled into center, and he came home on Tate's sacrifice fly to conclude the night's scoring. Durfey struck out Healey to shatter the Yankees' last real chance for rallying back.

In American Fork Pony League action at Bus Manning Field May 26, the Cardinals shocked the Rockies 10-2 through staging a nine-run rally.

The game went down as a classic pitching duel between Rocky Tony Peltzer and Cardinal Hayden Payne.  In the top of the first, for example, Peltzer struck out Payne and Jordan Hennen, then caused Kalin Goodwin to fly out to left field. On two outs in the bottom of the first, Nick Bernardo hit a triple into left, only to see teammate Hunter Loveless ground out.

In the top of the second, Cardinal Tyler "McBragg" McBride singled in Brayden Bezzant for the night's first run. Rocky first baseman Jadin Smith answered by turning up a double play. The Cardinals' 1-0 lead couldn't survive the bottom of the second. On one out in the inning's bottom half, Bridger Brooksby hit a two-run single.

After it, the game turned into a stalemated pitching duel between Peltzer and Payne. With neither team able to score in the third and fourth innings, the contest seemed destined to end in a Rocky victory. In the of the fourth, for example, Goodwin doubled into left, then tried stealing home, only to get tagged at the plate. The Cardinals didn't let Rockies capitalize on a Bernadro double hit in the bottom of the fourth.

The Cardinals finally got things going their way in the top of the fifth when they loaded the bases on two outs. McBride came home on an error which set off a nine-run rally for the Cardinals. Two-run singles hit by Payne and Collins Richards got the rally moving at top speed. By the time the Rockies finally shut it down, they were in such dire straits that Payne finished them off by striking out out three straight batters. Payne had fanned nine hitters for the night.

In American Fork Pony League action at Bus Manning Field May 27, the White Sox socked the Twins 25-2.

During the first 2 1/2 innings, the White Sox took a 4-0 lead. In the bottom of the third, Buzz Beeson came home on a passed ball for the first Twin run of the night. White Sox Emmett Green didn't let the Twins score again until the bottom of the fifth.

in the fourth opened with White Sox Taylor hitting what most folks thought was a home run, but the umpires ruled the hit to be a ground-rule double. Larson still stole home, though, to opena nine-run rally, which saw Brayden Oxborrow hit a twi-run double and Larson a two-run single. The White Sox pulled off a double play in the bottom of the fourth to keep the Twins in check.

Hit by Kincade Hallock, a one-run single stirred up a 12-run rally for the White Sox. The rally saw Larson hit a three-run homer. Green hit a grand slam, but the umpires ruled it a two-run double, because of a base-running violation. That couldn't change the outcome, though.

In the bottom of the fifth, Aaron Butcher doubled in Alex Fender, but Green didn't let the Twins rally back.

The Lehi Pioneers opened their preseason summer baseball schedule with a 7-4 win over the North Davis Gadwalls in a May 28 game at Pioneer Field.

The game was in connection to a Memorial Day weekend tournament sponsored by Rocky Mountain School of Baseball. The team that Lehi took on was a club squad comprised of players from various Davis County high schools such as Northridge and Clearfield.

In the top of the first, Trevor Jeppson singled in T.J. Russon to open a three-run rally for Lehi.
During the bottom of the first, Lehi held North Davis scoreless despite two errors that let leadoff batter Ty Willie race clear to third. Lehi pitcher Bronson Anderson struck out two Gunwalls to protect Lehi's lead.

North Davis pitcher Colton Mahoney held the Pioneers scoreless during the next five innings, despite a fourth-inning double from Lehi's Tanner Beeston. In the meantime, a Braden Parry single enabled the Gunwalls to waddle within 3-2 during the bottom of the third.

On one out in the top of the sixth, Hunter Houghton and Russon each singled in two runs. Those singles proved to be lifesavers for Lehi. During the bottom of the sixth, North Davis' Cam Clark doubled in Willie on two outs, then came home on a Manhoney double. Anderson struck out Brett Hamilton to clutch the win for Lehi.

In a Memorial Day weekend tournament game played at Lehi's Pioneer Field May 28, the Lehi Pioneers defanged the Draper Vipers, a Salt Lake County club team, 17-1.

The game opened with Draper's Aaron "Rattler" Davis doubling off pitcher Kaiden Longman. However, Lehi kept Rattler stuck on second.

For the bottom of the first, Palmer Paige doubled in T.J. Russon to open a six-run rally for the Pioneers. During that rally, Trevor Jeppson also whacked a one-run double, and Cody Hickman singled in another two runs.

Both singling in the second, Russon and Paige came home on an error. Davis slugged a one-out double in the top of the third, only to get tagged at third. Team Dylan Knight soon stole home, but that run turned out to be the only one that Longman let Draper have that morning. Lehi picked up a run in the third, and in the fourth, Longman hit a two-run double that sparked a 10-run rally that left the Vipers defanged. K.J Griffith also hit a two-run double during the rally.
